Unit 1.5: Performance Task
Federal Income Tax
Unit 1.5 isn't really a unit... It is more like a one day adventure that summarizes the work we have done throughout all of Unit 1. You will be exploring how Federal Income Taxes work and how Unit 1 can help us think about them.
This is called a performance task because it requires you to perform multiple tasks, but all of them are about the same topic. This task will be your way to show what you have learned throughout this Unit, so there will not be any videos of me showing examples.
You will need to analyze the data given, read through the new definitions, and apply your math skills to this task. If you have questions about what certain words mean, please ask me to explain :).

Part 4: Calculating the Tax
Now that we know how to find out the "Taxable Income," we need to know how to use that to find the amount a person would owe for their Federal Income Tax. Read through this information to find out what you need to do to calculate somebody's Federal Income Tax. If you have questions about the steps needed, please ask me for clarification. |
